I think it comes down to parenting. I work in the urban areas and I swear out of my 300 customers I may have 30 2 parent homes. Out of those 2 parent homes every kid has gone to college and stayed out of jail. Of the other 270 1 parent homes only about 10 have children that went to college and the others well their kids are always in and out of trouble, drugs and jail. It’s just an observation but I think some of these hit it and quit it dads need to take responsibility and help raise their kids. A child needs a father and a mother, not nesacerily married but at least help out. As far as the kid in the story with the toy ak, the officers saw a weapon and took action. I do not blame them for anything. In a world where video games and tv take over parenting this is what you get.
