Okay Damian, I’m pretty close to being ready to order. Thank you for keeping me on your list. I will be deploying to Germany in January, and should return in May. That will make May my goal.

Really, I’m not out of shape…round is a shape, right?

      Fenderfodder,

You bring up a good point. You don’t need to be in fantastic shape to do this. YES, the better shape you’re in, the more durable you are, but the fact is, you DON’T need to be in great shape.

It’s all about increasing your chances and survivability period. This is the best and most efficient way to do this.

The fact is, most people are not in top physical form, as long as you have the attitude (and that comes from the righ t training and preparation) you’re good to go.

      Damian

PS. Click on the “change your contact details” link on the bottom of the message so you can get rid of that “DEAR”

You have long ago gotten rid of the “Dear”. Just still amused by it.

Thanks for your response. Always good to have confirmation.

Okay…I got back, started the course, then things hit the fan and I had to suspend it. Sometimes life just gets in the way. I do have a question though…I have a situation. I need to try and lose at least 20 pounds by the 17th of October. In June, I weighed 215 (I’m now at 245), that’s when some problems started. My brother went into the hospital in Omaha, and then a few days later my wife went into the hospital in St. Louis, so I’m driving back and forth eating truck stop food, little sleep, no exercise, and a lot of stress. This went on for a couple of months. My wife was in and out of the hospital, my brother stayed. On the day he passed away, my wife was again admitted to the hospital for blood clots. She’s doing fine now, and things are calming down, but I’m still not to 100% me. I’ve been trying to lose weight, but I’m just spinning my wheels. Do you have any suggestions? I know its fast loss, but once I get on the “roll”, I can continue a slower loss and maintenance.

      Thanks!

Also, I read your piece acknowledging Sheep and sheepdogs. You might want to relay the sheep and sheepdogs story for the benefit of those that don’t know it. It’s a good story!

As per request (and welcome back—send pics!)

Are you a sheep or a sheepdog?

Colorado Man in Wheelchair Tackles Suspected Child Molester in Wal-Mart

      Dear firstname,
Cameron Aulner doesn’t think of himself as a hero. The wheelchair-bound Colorado resident says he just did what anyone else would do when he saved a little girl from a child molester right in the Wal-Mart where he works.

Witnesses say a man sexually assaulted a young girl inside a Wal-Mart in Westminster on Sept. 19, picked her up and then tried to flee the store, KDVR FOX 31 TV reported.
Aulner, 22, was working at the Comcast table in the front when he heard the commotion. He tackled the suspect, 34-year-old Kevin Salyers, before he could escape and held him until cops arrived, he said Tuesday in an interview with KDVR.

There are two types of people in this world: those who step up and those who sit down, Sheepdogs and Sheep. Which one are you? Are you the person who saves the girl or are you one of the many witnesses who stand by and watched as a disabled kid got out of his wheel chair and dispensed a little justice!

      I
