This comment came thought the email from Greg

I was wondering if you could post something explaining Asocial fighting vs. Social fighting. We had discussed this before and I think it would be good for the SDC community to hear. You told me about how in a life or death fight you would use SDTS tactics. In a fight with a friend or a social situation you would use some guardian stuff, MMA, Judo, etc. I think this would be a great topic to cover. Also if you could upload the full SDC theme for download that would be awesome! It’s great to listen to while training.

      End

This is the difference between fighting with a drunk brother in law or neighbor (a grown up school yard fight) and a stranger or a criminal.

When your neighbor loses his shit at a cook out, you know he’s not trying to kill someone. He’s frustrated, wants attention and has feels the need to act out. Here’s when sport and non-lethal tactics have their place. Most times this The first is an altercation where you really are not in fear for your life.

This is what most people experience. A guy gives you shit, you start pushing, someone throws a punch or two and then you both get tired and walk away. That’s why most combat sports seem to work “in the street”.

But that’s not what the SDTS is for…I mean if you crack a guy he’ll stop and of course you’ll probably realize this and stop as well which is natural and OK.

The SDTS was created with this in mind:

That’s who you train for, the rest is easy.

This is what is so powerful about the SDTS. We can tailor our response to the given situation. Look not every altercation is going to need you to drop a motherfucker with an edge of hand strike to the throat and follow up with a stomp to his head while he is laying on the ground gasping for air. Sometimes just a punch stop and backing away will do the job nicely. Our system takes you through non lethal and evasion techniques straight up to burying that asshole in a pile of his own blood. We train for both “asocial” and “social” scenarios.
