This happened right in Mike Archangel’s home town. Even a small town of 12,000 has a lot going on.
A Fayette County man allegedly shot a coyote hunter in the leg Sunday in Georges after the hunter shot and killed his dog, state police said.
George Bodnovich, 42, of Brownsville was charged with aggravated assault, simple assault and recklessly endangering another person.
Police said Bodnovich allegedly shot Jonathan Harmon, 26, of Clarksville, Washington County, in the right leg after an argument over the death of one of Bodnovich’s dogs, Seneca, Sunday afternoon.
Harmon, who was coyote hunting on an all-terrain vehicle, shot and killed Seneca around 4 p.m. because he mistook the dog for a coyote, police said. The dog was wearing an orange neoprene-type vest so that hunters did not mistake him for a wild animal.
Bodnovich allegedly shot Harmon after an argument about the shooting, which happened about a mile south of Hi-To Sportsmen Club, police said.
Bodnovich is free on bond after posting 10 percent of his $50,000 bond, according to court records. Nobody answered the phone at his residence Tuesday.
Police said Harmon was treated at Uniontown Hospital. Attempts to locate a phone number for him were unsuccessful.
According to the Pennsylvania Game Commission, there is no closed season for hunting coyotes, which frequently are hunted for their relatively valuable hide.
District Judge Randy Abraham has scheduled a preliminary hearing for 9 a.m. Thursday.
….The Dog’s family was unavailable for comment.

I didnt know that coyote’s wore orange vests… What a moron. How could you mistake a dog wearing an orange vest for a coyote? And then he had the gall to argue about it? Im not surprised he got shot in the leg.
