The last few days whenever I exercise vigorously such as lifting weights, doing the circuits from module 7, or even doing SDTS combination drills I’ve been getting headaches that begin in the back of my neck and migrate up to the back and sides of my head and last for the duration of the exercise and some time after. Damian I figured you might have some idea on what could be causing this with your knowledge of the anatomy of the human body and what things can go wrong with it and cause problems? Now I know why we target the sides and back of the neck with strikes…because it’s very debilitating and hurts like shit.

Dallas,
When was the last time you had your blood pressure checked? I know a few people with high blood pressure who experienced something similar. Just a thought.

Well when I talked to my dad about it, who has high blood pressure, he said that was a possibility and before he got on meds he would experience that sometimes too. But I don’t have health insurance right now so I haven’t been to the doctor in over a year but when I had it checked then it wasn’t high but borderline like 130/85 or something but I just attributed to stress or white coat syndrome. I mean I work out and eat healthy(for the most part) and I’m still in my 20’s but high bp and cholesterol run in my family because my dad has it and his dad had it before he passed away so it may just be in the genes. I’m just hoping it’s not some kind of blockage in the carotid arteries because that’s near where the pain starts and spreads up into my head like my skull is in a vice.

Sorry to hear that. Insurance or not you shouldn’t play with it. At least get a check-up so you can rule out any blockage. If it is BP, certainly you can work around that, but if it something more serious …
Good luck, brother. Keep us posted.
