[Damian Ross],
My friend, you have certainly done it again. I just got in the Family Safe DVD and all I can say is it’s awesome!
The concepts and drills are brilliant. Talking about the importance of CS1 & CS2 was dead on (no pun intended), and I loved how you don’t treat the kids like they’re… well, kids. Like you say in the beginning, they’re a lot tougher (and smarter) than we adults often give them credit for. In fact, your Stranger Danger exercise with the photos proves it; their gut instincts were pretty much right on the money.
I only have one complaint about the program. But, before I say what it is, just know that the complaint is about me! This thing is so simple, so “common sense”, and so effective that I am beating MYSELF up for not coming up with it. You have literally taken the essence of children’s self defense and boiled it down to its core. There is not one wasted idea here. Best of all, much like SDTS, the material is so instinctive that the kids will only need to run through it once or twice and they will retain it for the rest of their lives. I also like the fact that the physical techniques you show them are more for distraction and attention so that they can “escape” (another great lesson… we don’t “run”), rather than thinking a five year old has a chance in hell of beating up a larger, more determined attacker with some traditional martial arts, defeat-the-bear, maneuver.
Well done, sir, well done!

Am I able to teach people this program as long as I give the credit to to SDTS and Damian? Or do I have to be an accredited SDTS instructor to do so?
