      Ben,

Which dates in April and May?

The 2 day seminar will be the weekend of June 6th and 7th. I will have the details soon, but it will include:
1 day in the classroom and on the mats

      Weapon retention
      Pistol qualification
Conceal carry and a whole lot more (we’re going over it next Friday, March 13th).

At the end of the seminar you will have the qualifications for carry permits in 39 states. Once you qualify you will receive the paper work and instructions on how to file.

We will only take 20 people.

Will the 20 trainees be required to already have a NJ Firearms Purchaser ID Card (FPIC)? If not, will they be bringing their own weapons? If not, how do you know they are not felons in possession? No way to be sure, but at least the FPIC gives a reasoable basis for you to believe they had a background check and if the card has not been revoked, it is presumably still good. Having a Florida or Utah CCW/CWP is valuable, but the two processes can be started at the same time and a FPIC is necessary to transport firearms intrastate in NJ. Walk before run, but that’s just one Jerseyguy’s opinion.

A firearms ID card will help. At present we are sourcing ranges. We will also have a disclaimer , waiver regarding the background check to cover the SDC. My attorney is putting it together now.

Ok. Also consider having some directions in the registration package that attendees must read before arriving with firearms. Such as, those without a valid CCW/CWP for NJ or lawful exemption, must have their firearm unloaded and secure in a case separate from the ammo until instructed otherwise. Each person is resp for supervising their own weapon and cannot leave the immediate vicinity of their firearm. Bring eyes, and 2 levels hearing protection (pllugs and muffs)…. If people have a Fl or Ut CCW, bring the holster they use to carry for possible use in retention exercises with understanding that poor quality holsters may be damaged or destroyed in exercise.

Do you have red guns? if so, what kinds?

Thanks for the input, directions are going to be specific and explicit. Those who don’t comply will forfeit their tuition and be dropped from the course.
