      Hi guys
I don’t know how familiar you are with the events currently taking place in my country, so I wanted to give you a brief update. Maybe you’re interested (or not) – in any case, I’d be happy if there was a brief mention of it in your podcast. There has been an increase in attacks on innocent people by asylum seekers, most of them fatal.
Here is a small selection :
      Knife attack in Solingen
      Date: 23 August 2024
Description: A 26-year-old Syrian refugee attacked several people with a knife during a city festival in Solingen. Three people were killed and eight others were injured. The perpetrator claimed allegiance to the so-called Islamic State.
      Fatalities: 3
      Knife attack in Brokstedt
      Date: 25 January 2023
Description: A 33-year-old Palestinian attacked several passengers with a knife on a regional train from Kiel to Hamburg. Two people were killed and ten others injured.
      Fatalities: 2
Attack at the Christmas market in Magdeburg
      Date: 20 December 2024
Description: A 50-year-old Saudi citizen drove a car into a crowd at a Christmas market in Magdeburg. Five people were killed and over 200 injured.
      Fatalities: 5
The list goes on. On 22 January 2025, a previously convicted Afghan national who was required to leave the country attacked a group of children with a kitchen knife in Aschaffenburg. Two people were killed, including a two-year-old child.
Instead of taking measures to protect the population and tackling the causes, our government recommends avoiding supposedly dangerous places and public events. We are being asked to restrict our freedom because the current government is unable and unwilling to do what is necessary.
What the population wants is protection from these people (whom we have let into the country unfiltered because our borders are open). All appropriate measures such as closing the borders or immediately expelling criminals are only supported by one party – the far right.
And here comes the real problem. The established parties still suffer from a sense of guilt associated with our past and are afraid that we will soon be wearing brown uniforms and marching in goose steps as soon as we take even one step to the right.
However, since the end of the Second World War, no right-wing radical has ever driven a car into a Christmas market or stabbed a child.
Right-wing parties (which are part of a democracy, just like all the others) are victims of a cancel culture, which only makes them more popular. Unfortunately, many see no alternative when it comes to our internal security and the protection of our families. This has absolutely NOTHING to do with xenophobia – only with a failure of the government, which brought these people into the country in the first place. Those who integrate and respect our values and laws have nothing to fear.
If I’m a Nazi just because I want to protect my life and that of my family, so be it – but I’d still rather be that than have to bury my child!
Peace and all the best wherever you are.

I’ve heard from other Germans how bad the fear and guilt is from the past. It is truly crippling. It is sad that it has helped to create this scenario. The reality is that due to social media algorithms and potential *conspiracies* that the middle political ground, where most people naturally fall, has but been destroyed. People are unknowingly pushed farther right and left. I hope things improve there. I have noticed that many European countries are having failures of government with PM’s and ranking secretaries quitting, mostly from the left side. Stay safe Markus and get the word about the SDC out there.
