When you talk about the practical use of self defense techniques more times than not someone brings up what happen to them at the their local watering hole. Whether you

How to survive a bar fight? You’re kidding right. Go for the throat, side/back of the neck, the ears, eyes, balls and kneecaps. Initiate the first move to be more in control cause you will get stuck one way or another, finish it as fast as possible. Overwhelm your assailants with aggression, rage and violence. Strike with the intention to kill or incapacitate. Pick up a pool cue if possible then get the F#$k outta there!

Wow did you come up with that all by yourself? Correcting you is a full time job. I never said not to go for the neck, and you should always look for a weapon to use, but I never exclude anything in a bar fight. Me personally I don’t think its worth killing man over a bar stool, but if someone tries to knock me off mine well I’m going to assume they are and act accordingly.

If you can have the guy thrown out that works much better, and if you both get thrown out be ready to fight. Every situation calls for something different so a good skill set is the best thing for any fight.

Sounds like a great way to end up in jail.

I’ve seen many bar fights that were just drunks trying to hit each other and failing miserably, I’ve also seen a few bad ones, where my instincts told me to get away.

In bars awareness is especially important, as is knowing when you’ve had enough to drink.

My best advice is don’t hang around in bars, but that’s easy for me to say.

I survived a bar fight just by deliver a elbow to the nose and a knee to the groin! FAST, HARD and FIRST!
