That also brings up the problem with training. Most people train you in a vacuum. Don’t make that mistake.
Train with all of your weapons. If you have your ASP and you’re using that, OK but when it starts to get out of control and you think you’re going to die you WILL DRAW YOUR FIREARM.
Specific weapon training is like specific defense – you start to get boxed in and automatically stick with the weapon so it turns into some bizarre stick fighting match.
You use the ASP when you have someone who is not obeying verbal commands. If they’re actively attacking you, well you’re within your right to do what is needed to save your life and the lives of others. PERIOD.
When you’re training you need to have all your tools with you and at your disposal. That “focused” kind of training needs to be put in the round file.
