We hear every November one horror story after the other of people getting trampled, stampeded, ran over, even beaten, stabbed, or shot because of everybody trying to be the first individual to get to those limited items with the big sale and buy them before they’re gone. People are so goddamned selfish and foolish as to put the welfare and safety of others in jeopardy or even intentionally hurt them all in the name of saving a few bucks on some Christmas shopping. I can understand getting up early or staying up until midnight when the big sales start and trying to be the first to get early grabs on them while still conducting ourselves with dignity and civility towards our fellow man. But as human beings are and always have been selfishness and greed takes over and many people are willing to behave negligently or violently just to get what they want at any costs. As citizens we have to be prepared for this and be prepared to take action to defend ourselves or our loved ones from harm whether we are a fellow black friday shopper or just innocently making a run to the store to pick up a gallon of milk. The biggest thing I’m thankful for this Thanksgiving is Damian’s SDTS because it, even just the first two modules, gives us the ammunition we need to survive such tragedies that can occur on black and blue friday. This is why it’s so vitally important to do those damn tiring but imperative drills(ex. three count chop) on the dummy till we puke, because if we can go for several minutes solid beating the BOB full bore without gassing out then we have the stamina it takes to axe hand, heel of hand, and chin jab our way out of a raging stampeding adrenaline fueled horde of consumers on black and blue friday making our way to safety or buying some time to draw and deploy a weapon such as pepper spray or a firearm. As Damian says “Train honestly” folks Smile

      Right on, Dallas. Well said.

Stay safe, and remember… the chin jab works wonders on Black Friday! Laugh

      Have a great Thanksgiving.

Yep, I truly do not understand why people turn so violent to get a Christmas gift. Save your time shop online and more importantly stay safe. Yes the savings are great but it’s not worth a fight or your life. I’ve have a bad black and blue Friday experience and will never do it again. Everyone stay safe this holiday and give thanks for everything. I’m thankfull for SDTS and the fact that I know 100% that I can protect my family when fit hits the shan.

Why do people get so violent over nothing?

Because they have lost perspective, spirituality and respect.

WOW, bet you didn’t think I was going there.

It’s inherent for people to protect their own. Now since they don’t actually have to do this on a regular basis, this need gets misplaced. This turns that toy into providing for my child, into protecting my child.

People have a desire to compete and if there’s not an outlet for it, they just lose their minds.

Less and less there is a lack of community, respect and love for your fellow man. I think the media reflects and also drives this.

God is creepy, gangs are cool.

      What did we expect?

    • #13190

[Damian Ross] yep didn’t expect that. Speaking of the media. Even South Park has gotten into the black and blue Friday theme. They had a shoe about it the past couple weeks which ends tonight do far I think three ppl were brutally killed but it’s a cartoon, and yes shit like that happens every year.

That’s why in America we need to go back to traditional values that we used to have and away from what the media is influencing us to be now. I’m not exactly a religious but I am spiritual and believe in love and respect for my fellow human beings, and even animals also and only believe in killing them for self defense or practical purposes such as food. One good thing about religion is it does provide a code of morality for people to govern their lives by and at least for those who take it seriously encourages love, respect, and civility to our fellow man. Another traditional value that seems to be taking a “hit” these days is sports, especially old American football, but this is another reason why sports are good, especially for youngsters. It gives them a positive outlet for energy and meets the need to compete in a productive way and allows people to form a sense of companionship, unity, and teaches the value of hard work and working together and what it can accomplish. And growing up and associating with good friends and positive role models will help keep kids away from harmful activities like gangs, drugs, alcohol, violence, etc.
And people also get confused over what exactly providing for their child means. Children these days are so spoiled and entitled and expect mommy or daddy to just give them what they want when they want it. Things like food, shelter, clothing, and a warm loving home environment are needs that a child must have to be physically and emotionally healthy and that any good parent should see that those things are provided for their children. But expensive toys and the latest fancy gadgets like iphones, ipods, ipads, video games, etc. are luxuries and it is all well and good if you can afford to buy your child something of the like for christmas or birthdays. But people should remember these aren’t “needs” they’re wants and even if they can’t get that extra cheap sale that they would need to be able to buy their child that gift, then opt for something less expensive or find something else that is on sale, or next year get your ass to the store earlier lol. You and your child will live, you don’t have to knock down or run over the person in front of you at the store to get to the last Xbox, Wii, or iPhone, that is 75% off, none of that shit is worth harming another human being or being rude or disrespectful to get it.

      [Dallas Williams] Excellent post!!!

      Well said [Dallas Williams].

Somewhere along the line the sheep coined the term “dumb jock” to describe anyone who played a sport. But Stanford has a pretty good football team so, I really don’t know who they meant.

All of the Ivy League schools recruit athletes. The top banking institutions (I happen too be friends with a few managing directors) recruit college athletes.

You need balance – it keeps you sane, humble and happy.

People are always gonna hate on successful athletes especially NFL quarterbacks like Peyton Manning or Tom Brady but they didn’t just achieve that magically overnight. Yes they have some degree of natural talent and ability obviously, but they couldn’t have gotten to the point where they are today or accomplished everything they have without putting in years of hard work and dedication and overcoming many difficulties and obstacles (Peyton Manning injured his neck underwent three surgeries and very well could’ve become a quadriplegic but he’s back playing nearly in prime condition this year). The haters and trolls are those who understand nothing about this because they have worked for nor accomplished anything significant in their life, at least not athletically, so of course they’re going to be envious, and for those who say they’re overpaid don’t have to worry about the debilitating and expensive and potentially life threatening injuries that occur from playing contact sports many times lasting and requiring treatment and compensation for a lifetime. As far as I’m concerned successful, talented, and hard working athletes are an inspiration for me as they should be for all of us both on and off the field Smile.

That being said I think Peyton better pick up the SDTS before he decides to take on a 320 + lb. lineman like this guy lol.
