Ok, I saw the movie TAKEN and to say the least, I found it enjoyable. Someone was doing their homework. Olivier Schneider, the fight choreographer, really put a reality edge on it. A lot of edge of SDTS type technique (EVEN THOUGH HE’S A KUNG FU ENTHUSIAST!). Its also not w/out a little “twisty wrist”, but all in all it was fun to watch.

Of course you need to suspend belief…its a movie. But compared to the “bullet dodging, over technical CGI productions we’ve grown accustomed to, it was a refreshing change.

The fight scene at the airport was my favorite.

What I liked was there was plenty of ‘Do your worst, fast and first in it’

I really enjoyed it. I like lo-tech, old fashioned, beat em up stuff..not a bad movie either. It migh not have played too well in your part of the world Steve.

The challange with watching any film over here is that you are always asking yourself what was cut out, and of course some films dont make it in at all, however I enjoyed ‘Taken’

It was one of my students from the class told me to watch it, now of course I know why.

I love those movies. Gotta love the simple brutality of the SDTS when some someone kidnaps your family. Always do you worse fast
