I grew up a skinny kid in a single parent home. My mom did her best to protect me, but that didn't stop me from being bullied and beaten up on the school bus. This prompted me to take an early interest in self-defense. I found myself hanging around the Combat Tactics Club in town, cleaning up and doing what I could in exchange for lessons. It wasn't long before the owner of the Combat Tactics Club, Mr. Roberts, took me under his wing and began teaching me. Mr. Roberts was a retired Master Sergeant of the 82nd Airborne and the hand to hand combat instructor in Ranger School. It was then that I received my first taste of Combatives. I continued to pursue other forms of martial arts. I have earned a 2nd degree Black in Tae Kwon Do and in 2012 I earned my Black Belt in Chinese Kung fu. I served my country as an Army Combat Infantryman for 3 years and then 10 years in the Ohio Reserves. Currently I am a Self Defense Company Instructor Based in Winchester, Ohio. What drew me to the Self Defense Company was the simplicity and effectiveness of the programs. "I want to be able help as many people as I can and this is the best way to do it. Mr. Roberts helped me and now I get to pay it forward.
