Yes, I’ve been having the same trouble seeing posts. I only see some of the thread but not the original post or some of the thread is missing. I am definitely down for a seminar and I have two friends who do not have SDTS videos but I have shown a little of Mod 1 to that want to train at a seminar to get a feel for the system.

I was actually making a joke. Like the wrist grabbing epidemic. Who is really walking the streets with chloroform in their pocket hoping to just use it? I haven’t seen too many cases, it’s pretty rare in real life. In the movies, yes, real life, not so much. I just think it’s silly to train specifically against being chloroformed (training a specific defense for a specific situation). Next will be defense against alien abductions by tractor beam.

Thank you for asking this question. I have wondered this myself and meant to ask. I have never used any techniques on somebody already ready in a fighting stance so I was wondering how it would work too. I try to train with my training partner but he only wants to train Thai Kick Boxing so that is what we do when he comes over to train. He things SDC looks cool but won’t train with me. My fellow police officers at work think it looks silly and only want to train MMA. I have had discussions with them about jitsing on the ground in the real world with threats of multiple attackers and with all of our equipment on but they still believe the hype. I have also brought up tapping and how their reflex would be to loosen up or let go if one tapped leaving a quick opportunity to counter them. None believe me. I’ll just keep training SDC and Guardian and do it my way.

    Amen, brother!
It’s SDTS for me all the way. In fact, the ONLY reason I even still train in anything like aikido/jujitsu is because, as a police officer, I am often required by my department to show that I at least attempted to “subdue and control” an individual before I commence to hacking and chopping (unless, of course, the fight is already on… then all bets are off!) Even then, though, I often find myself resorting to GDT and SDTS many times — for example, the ol’ Hand Yoke to the back of the neck tends to get their attention quickly. Laugh
Great post. Stay safe, my friend.

James, I feel you brother. I am a police officer too and the Guardian Program has worked. My department does not approve of the control techniques in there but, I have used a few and they have worked great. Especially the hand yoke ot the back of the neck! I used that once when we had this big fight we were breaking up and the biggest mouth in the group wasn’t fighting anybody anymore but he was instigating others. I gave him the hand yoke to the back of the neck, that shut him up quick and to the crowd it looked like I was just taking him into custody and not trying to fight. I did the hand yoke during an almost riot too and it shut somebody down real quick too. Also, the bulldog neck twist worked real good too on a domestic with a guy trying to fight me. I got him down quick and without incident.

Hi, Jacquar Roston. I live in Las Vegas and know for sure that The SDC is the real deal. I have trained in other styles but none were as effective as SDC. I am grateful for what we have here. I have been slacking on my training recently and know that I need to get back on it. It saved me once, I am sure it will again in the future.
