Veteran Dedicates Himself to Helping Others to Defend and Protect.
“Growing up watching comic book superheroes, I’ve always wanted to be able to protect people, especially those I care about. This led me to taking karate classes as a kid, but I quickly lost interest in it due to the fact that it seemed too “orchestrated” and at times confusing.”
This lead Nick to start wrestling, and though he loved the competition and brotherhood – after 8 years of competing and training – he still felt he was missing that “self defense” component.
Nick enlisted and served in the U.S. Navy for several years. During his service he saw the real damage and pain people are capable of inflicting on one another – this inspired him even further to research countless forms of martial arts, trying to find one that is effective, easy to learn, and easy to call upon in times of stress.
“Out of several very noteworthy options, I finally came across the Self Defense Company and the Self Defense Training System. It blew everything else out of the water and I realized without a doubt this was what I had been looking for.”
After a few years, Nick took the step and became a certified Self Defense Company Instructor.
In view of the ever increasing violence in the world, coupled with his passion for teaching and inspiring others, Instructor Ossorgin dedicates himself towards arming people with the knowledge and skills needed to protect themselves and loved ones.
Instructor Nick Ossorgin is a Certified Level 5 Instructor (this is our highest rating).

Hello, I wish you had something here in Texas where I could join. Is there an affiliate near central Texas where you can refer me?
Harold,
Re: affiliate in Central Texas to whom you can refer me.
SDC has affiliates in Texas, however, how would you like to learn in the comfort of your own home? I am in North Texas and also a Level Five Instructor. In fact, Nick and I received our Level Five’s on the same day at the same time. And, our mentor lives north of Ontario, Canada. We did it through the miracle of the internet. Many, if not all of the upper-level instructors have virtual dojo’s. We have face-to-face contact with our students. Any of us can use the video classes from SDC and add personal contact and correction in our face-to-face internet meets.
If you want more information, contact Nick through the “Go here to learn more about training with Nick . . .” link above, or contact me at . Or, you can use the, “. . . go here to train with an instructor LIVE on your device.” That goes to HQ and they will pick an instructor that will be Nick, me or someone else.
Whichever you choose, don’t miss this opportunity. What we teach is not martial arts, it doesn’t take years of practice to learn and it really effective against street violence, unlike Martial Arts which are (really) sports.
I have various black belts in three different Martial Arts and look at what I do now.
Check us out and contact us. You will not be sorry.
